BlackCards
Retail loyalty programs that account for purchases and returns
Make the reward rule clear at checkout. Use BlackCards for digital stamp or points passes, while defining eligible purchases, staff responsibilities and the store's returns procedure.
From enrollment to redemption
1.Choose a clear purchase rule
Decide whether to reward qualifying visits or purchase amounts, and whether the amount is before or after discounts. Document exclusions and reward limits before sharing the pass.
2.Enroll and save the pass
Share the enrollment link or QR code. Customers save the pass through Apple Wallet or Google Wallet on a compatible device without a separate store app.
3.Check the receipt and record earning
Authorized staff review the eligible purchase and record the award. For points, enter the purchase amount under the agreed rule. Keep the sale reference in your store system for review.
4.Redeem and check the balance
Staff check the available reward, record redemption and review the result. Applying a checkout discount and recording loyalty redemption are steps to verify in your operating workflow.
Stamps or points for your store?
Choose a rule staff can apply to a real receipt during a busy shift. Avoid overlapping offers that create conflicting entitlements or make eligibility hard to explain.
- Stamps: useful for repeat purchases with a simple qualifying rule, such as a visit above a threshold your store publishes.
- Points: useful for varying basket values when the amount basis, earning and redemption rules are defined.
- Membership: communicates a tier or benefits your store provides; it is not a cash balance or bank payment method.
- Discounted products and gift cards: explain exclusions to customers and train staff to check them.
Discounted purchases and partial returns
Sales and returns happen in your sales system. Do not assume that reversing a payment automatically reverses loyalty points. Your returns procedure must review the original award, any redeemed reward and permission to correct the balance.
- For discounted purchases, consistently use the amount basis stated in your program terms.
- For a partial return, review the eligible returned portion and associated award, then follow the authorized manager's correction procedure.
- If the reward has already been redeemed, escalate for review rather than promising an unverified automatic settlement.
- Keep a review trail linked to the receipt reference without collecting unnecessary extra customer data.
Test at checkout before expanding
Start with a small operating sample: a regular purchase, a discounted purchase, an excluded product, a redemption and a partial return. Document what staff do manually and what your account actually automates, checking the resulting balance each time.
- Verify participating branches, staff permissions and plan limits.
- Include subscription, fulfilled rewards and additional operating work for the same period in cost analysis.
- Compare repeat purchases and basket values while accounting for discounts and returns. More points alone do not establish more profit.
- Do not rely on a POS integration or stock synchronization until your specific connection is confirmed and tested.
Frequently asked questions
Does BlackCards replace my POS?
This page describes loyalty passes, earning and redemption. Keep sales, inventory and returns in your sales system, and confirm any specific integration before assuming automatic data exchange.
Are points automatically deducted on a return?
We do not promise an automatic reversal from the sales system. Review the original award and follow the authorized correction process available in your account, then verify the balance and transaction record.
Can customers earn and redeem across branches?
This depends on the program, organization, authorized branches, account settings and plan. Confirm earning and redemption scope before advertising participation; independent stores are not automatically included.
What does the loyalty program cost?
See current pricing and plan limits, then include reward fulfillment and operating time. Use the calculator with your store's inputs; its result is not a promise of sales or return on investment.
